Headwear product design for Anchor MFG CO.

Working as the Head of Design for Anchor MFG Co. since 2022, I’ve had the opportunity to design custom headwear and apparel for clients that range from Fortune 500 companies to local retailers here in Minnesota. From the beginnings of a creative brief, to outlining a technical CAD, to communicating with overseas factories, to final studio photography editing, I design and lead the creative efforts to help bring an idea to life.

My design process

Building the foundation.

From the very beginning, I build my design process by defining the needs that the client has and then dive into research on how to best approach the next steps. This ensures I’m able to creatively deliver on brand custom garments that check all the boxes while maintaining budget/tight deadlines.

Communication is key.

During the ideation and sampling process, I’ve learned how to best communicate with clients/overseas factories by staying on top of any issues that may come up or simply just following up with the client to inform them on current progress.

Learning to adapt.

Last minute CAD updates, switching my brain over to metric, supply chain issues, and even a warmer than average winter can affect the outcome of a custom garment - knowing how to pivot when needed can open the door to new possibilities and build unique knowledge.

Staying true.

Keeping empathy at the forefront and striving to always put my best into every project is at the core of my design philosophy and what drives me everyday. I truly love what I do and am grateful for every project, client I get to meet, lesson I learn, and everything in between.
